Our bodies have an innate ability to heal from trauma and chronic pain.  By combining therapies which address the whole being from gross to subtle, physical/mental/emotional, we can invoke the innate healing mechanism and tap into the wisdom of the body.

Pain is a complex experience of overwhelming sensation. The multifaceted underlying causes of pain and their expression are unique to each individual. Symptoms are part of the language of the body. Learning to hear and decipher the language of body sensation empowers us to go beyond  symptoms to underlying root causes.

Experience has taught me that each individual has an internal treatment plan.  With deliberate intention, patience and commitment to self-discovery this healing potential can be nurtured, facilitating symptom relief and improved quality of life,

Our bodies are continually offering us feedback both gross and subtle.  When we learn to focus our awareness in sensation we can begin to “hear” the language of the body.  Through direct experience we become skilled at understanding these essential messages.

TRAUMA is any perceived life-threatening or overwhelming experience.
The intensity of a traumatic experience is too much, too fast to be absorbed,
interpreted and integrated by the nervous system, body and mind. Trauma can
result in debilitating symptoms. Trauma and its expressed symptoms
are unique to the individual and must be addressed with recognition of the
unique context of the individual. To further complicate an already complex reaction the pain symptoms may not arise until a significant time after the trauma was experienced.

The subtle techniques of Craniosacral therapy,
polarity therapy and movement therapy can address the symptoms of trauma;
but more importantly, can support you in resolving and dissolving the
underlying patterns that create the symptoms.

“. . . trauma, is not, will not, and can never be fully healed unless we also
address the essential role played by the body”
- Peter A. Levine in the introduction to Waking the Tiger, Healing Trauma.
